Why eat rabbit meat?

Rabbit meat is high in protein and low in fat, making it a healthy addition to your diet. It’s extremely lean meat compared to conventional pork or beef.

CRISPY BREADED RABBIT

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Portioned Rabbit (Tenderizing beforehand helps to make the meat not tough.)
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 3-4 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Dried Nettle
  • Oil (For Frying)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Get your oil heating in a dutch oven on the stove. Cover wile preheating.
  2. Whisk eggs in a bowl. In another separate bowl, combine the flour and spices.
  3. Begin breading the meat by dipping it in the egg, coating, then dipping in the flour and coating. Repeat 2-3 times per piece.
  4. Once your oil reaches the temperature of 375F-400F you can carefully place the breaded meat into the pot. (Careful to not burn yourself.)Let cook for around 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. The meat should be submerged in oil while cooking.
  5. our rabbit is done when it has an internal temperature of at least 165F. (Be sure to check the middle of the meat for the temp, not the sides. The smaller pieces will be done first.) When finished, remove from oil and place in a tray lined with paper towels to cool.
  6. Serve warm. Eat as you would crispy chicken along with a side of potatoes and/or fruits/veggies of choice.

NOTES

This meal is best served hot. Though you can keep leftovers, the meat will not be as crispy and will be prone to getting soggy.
